We are so impressed with the professionalism of the owners Adil and Badra who arranged an amazing and delicious takeout lunch for our Senior group visiting a date farm tour in Thermal, CA. For convenience we asked if our lunch could be delivered and they personally did it with heartwarming hospitality and Sunny smiles. We were happy to work with this small family owned business who added their personal touch and catered to our needs. We had the chicken shawerma wraps and also lettuce wraps as some in our group preferred gluten free. Thank you again for being so gracious and kind. We truly appreciate it.
Gorgeous little spot that's perfect for a light breakfast. Incredible Turkish coffee and the saffron coffee was very delicious as well. The owner and his wife decorated this cafe beautifully and are gracious hosts.
Wish I could give more stars than 5. The owners are wonderful people who care about their customers and want to create a cultural experience. Adil has shared about the different tea and coffee they offer. They also have products like pomegranate molasses and an assortment of baklava and Turkish Delights! Super excited that we can now enjoy Turkish coffee in the desert. The owners are super friendly and extremely welcoming to their establishment. Do yourself a favor and stop by for some amazing coffee, food and desserts & I promise you won't regret it.
After 3 failed attempts to try this new café -- I kept finding them closed during their posted hours -- I finally succeeded the other day for a late afternoon coffee. It's very cute inside and they sell a bunch of Turkish items like dates, condiments, and coffee (though dispensers were empty), in addition to a full pastry selection including baklava, muffins, and some really yummy looking filled croissants. On this visit we just had Turkish coffees and sat at one of the tables outside while they prepared it. The hot sand method they use to make the Turkish coffee is a fascinating setup. It's a slow method so don't order Turkish coffee if you're in a rush. It was good though, topped with cardamom. And it comes with a few golden dates to munch on between sips. Ended up being a lovely leisurely coffee break. Aside from pastries, food menu is limited but looks good. Can't wait to try their schawarma.
Visited this business looking for authentic Turkish coffee....and golden dates cafe did not disappoint The owner husband and wife were so friendly and welcoming to me and my friend We asked questions about how the coffee is made...in the sand...oh the cardamom The baklava so good.....not all the honey...you can taste the dough you can taste the pistachio Decor in the Cafe is giving you a relaxing vibe We sat outside at the patio area, which is decorated in the same relaxing vibe We also had chicken swaharma...so so good Really great way to spend time with friend and relax enjoy great coffee and great food I will be going back If you have the time try this cafe
What a lovely addition to the Palm Desert food scene. We live a few blocks away, chose to drop in this morning. Am glad to see ethnic diversity in the Coachella Valley. The Golden Dates Cafe is owned and operated by an Iraqi family. They clearly take pride in the colorful (fun) decor, introducing local residents to the Middle East. BEEF BORAG Wonderful, rolled pastry filled with beef. They heated it up for me. It had a light flakey crust, wonderful tender/flavorful beef filling. They sell them for 2 for $9.99. They were nice enough to let me buy just one today, make sure I like it. Reality? It was delicious and I will be buying 2 next time. Perfect snack and/or light lunch. JALAPENO CHEESE DANISH Dan had a lovely warm pastry with melted cheese and jalapenos. He enjoyed it immensely. Price was under $4. Nice to see fair prices during inflationary times. You should definitely check this place out. They have authentic Turkish coffee served like they do in Turkey. They carry odd culinary items like rose water. Also import various dates from their country. This is an interesting store for any foodie to check out. I'm glad they opened near my house. I will frequent this business often. Nice warm people working here, clearly made us feel like home - true Iraqi hospitality.
